INTRODUCTION:

Procrastination is the attitude that makes people to push what ought to be done today to another day until it is late or never done. It makes one to feel that a more convenient time for committing oneself to a worthy project is still in the future. Procrastination is an evil that destroys excellence. If you want to win over procrastination, you have to adopt the “must do it now” attitude. We must refuse to shift today's task to tomorrow. Procrastination is a good friend of Poverty. The greatest destiny killer is procrastination.

CAUSES OF PROCRASTINATION:

Procrastination being the willfully delaying to do something that should be done has some causes and they are as follows, laziness, fear, over sleeping, anxiety/depression, lack of responsibility, manipulation – dependency on others, Escape/Avoidance. Laziness: This is a situation where a person refuses to work or fails to make efforts to achieve something in life. The bible says many things to this effect in life. Proverb 10:4 “He becometh poor that dealth with slack hand but the hand of the diligent make rich” Proverb 12:24 also says “The hand of the diligent shall bear rule, but the slothful shall be under tribute”. It is laziness that makes people to confess; I am tired, I cannot make it, it is too much for me, there is nobody that can do it. Laziness is a disease that kills and promotes procrastination. Prov. 20:4 says “the sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold, therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing”
