Knowing the truth is one thing; being free as a result is another.
(Deuteronomy 15:12, 17–18)
Reads: “And if thy brother, an Hebrew man or an Hebrew woman, be sold unto thee, and serve thee six years, then in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free from thee.”
(Vs 17–18) “But if he says unto you, I will not go away from thee, because he loveth thee and thine house, because he is well with thee, then thou shalt take an aul, and thrust it through his ear unto the door, and he shall be thy servant forever.”

So, thrusting the ear and hanging of an earring that bears the name of the master for easy identification is reserved for slaves in the family. It’s not for sons and daughters in the same family.

Therefore, freedom is a thing of choice.
So many have subscribed to remain slaves to one thing or another—not because the option of freedom was not offered, but because they chose to be.

That being the truth, if you are wearing earrings, nose rings, finger rings, neck and hand chains, you may be in one form of slavery or another to someone you may or may not know.

Romans 5:10 reads:
"Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation, even so by the righteousness of one, the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life."
So you can see that the condemnation of man is as a result of his refusal to accept the free gift of Christ unto justification.

The Gospel of John 8:32 says:
"You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free."
Yes, it’s only the truth known, believed, and practiced that can set you free.

Apostle Paul states in 2 Corinthians 11:14–15:
"And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness..."

In Acts 8:9–10, we were told of a certain man called Simon, which before time in the same city used sorcery and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that he himself was a great one. To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the great power of God.”

Yet another example in Acts 16:16 was of a damsel possessed with the spirit of divination, which brought much gain to her masters by soothsaying. She revealed the truth by telling who Paul and Silas were and what their mission was—but all this was made possible by the spirit of divination.

This spirit has taken most ministries and many churches into captivity.
Men like Simon and this damsel stand tall among the deceived, so you must know whom you believe before believing in his or her power to save.

These are some of the features of the likes of Simon the sorcerer and the soothsaying, spirit-of-divination-possessed damsel:

1. Cooked rice and mineral sacrifices along riverbanks, road junctions, or bush paths in the name of prayer

2. Candles and incenses for prayers

3. Saraka ceremonies

4. Breaking coconuts and using the water to wash the heads of their victims

5. Gunpowder prayers

6. Salt prayers

7. Okpete water for prayers

8. Broom prayers

9. Bathing women naked in buses, streams, and rivers

10. Some remove their shoes before entering their worship centers
